Application for special leave to appeal against the High Court judgment : Brummer v Gorfil Brothers Investments (Pty) Ltd 1997 (2) SA 411 (T), and order of the Supreme Court of Appeal in Brummer v Gorfil Brothers Investments (Pty) Ltd 1999 (3) SA 389 (SCA), and an application for condonation of the late noting of application for leave to appeal.

Constitutionality of the laws that permit a party to pending legal proceedings or some other person to purchase the right of another in those proceedings for the sole purpose of terminating the litigation. Right of access to court. Applicant sought condonation for late application. Yacoob J for a unanimous Court dismissed the condonation application.
