dc.concourt.synopsis Application for confirmation of constitutional invalidity made by the High Court in Pretoria regarding section 33(1) (e) of the Electoral Act 73 of 1998. Said provisions concerned the rights of registered voters abroad. It was held that this section created an unjustifiable violation of section 19 of the Constitution in restricting the rights of classes of voters to vote in elections. Therefore, the High Court?s order of invalidity was confirmed. Majority: O?Regan J (unanimous)
