Synopsis:
The applicants had been convicted in the Magistrate's Court of harbouring certain wild animals without a permit in contravention of the Nature and Environmental Conservation Ordinance 19 of 1974. They applied directly to the Constitutional Court without waiting for the outcome of the appeal in the High Court. Judgment of the Court: Held, that, although the matter raised a number of constitutional issues, it would be premature for the Constitutional Court to hear the matter before the High Court had dealt with it.
