Synopsis:
Application for leave to appeal directly to the Constitutional Court against the decision of the Full Bench of the Natal High Court, challenging the constitutionality of section 7(2) of the Admission of Advocates' Act 74 of 1964 in so far as it entitles the respondent to bring a disciplinary action against an advocate who is not one of its members and the constitutionality of the 'referral rule', which prohibits an advocate from accepting work directly from the public without the intervention of an attorney. Application for leave to appeal directly to the Constitutional Court refused in unanimous judgment by Langa DP.
