dc.concourt.synopsis Issues of constitutionality of various provisions of the Criminal Procedure Act relating to bail. In a unanimous judgment by Kriegler J, the court considered the general principles of bail, and the nature, effect and constitutionality of major amendments to the law governing bail. The appeals of Dlamini and Dladla were dismissed, whilst the State's appeal in Joubert and Schietekat were upheld. Kriegler J for a unanimous Court.
